Cruxword

Last updated 2 November 2026 (Cruxword in ChatGPT added). Cruxword is a daily word game. We collect as little as we can, never sell data, and show no ads.

What we collect

Cruxword in ChatGPT

Cruxword's app in ChatGPT shows the day's puzzle as a game inside the conversation and can check whether a word is in our dictionary. When ChatGPT uses it, our server receives the tool request: the word to check, and a coarse location hint from ChatGPT (time zone) used only to pick your local day's puzzle. We don't receive your conversation, name, email or account, we store nothing from these requests beyond Cloudflare's standard request logs, and the app has no analytics, ads or purchases. Your progress in the game is kept by ChatGPT with the conversation. Grids played in ChatGPT aren't sent to the cruxword.com leaderboard. OpenAI handles your use of ChatGPT under its own privacy policy.

Who processes it

Cloudflare (hosting, database, web analytics), Mixpanel (product analytics, with consent), Stripe (payments and tax), Resend (email delivery), and, only while we advertise and only with your consent, Google, Meta, TikTok and Reddit (ad measurement). Each handles data only to provide its service to us.
